RE: UPDATE: NAACP Congressional Candidates Forum‏

Thanks to all who came to the Debate/Forum last night!

It was a great event, with huge turnout as expected. Reps Van Hollen and Wynn showed up, but Hoyer did not. We were able to clap it up for Jay Roberts and Collins Bailey during their debates.

When the 4th district was on, the whole auditorium suddenly became packed to standing room only, and they turned off all the lights and shone spotlights on the candidates. 9 Candidates gathered around a table to express their views on the issues and encourage voters to choose them. The Republicans talked up the Liberty Message, the issues of Debt and the Federal Reserve and distrust of Big Government. Even some Democrats expressed shockingly conservative values. One of them, copying the Ron Paul candidates, brought a Constitution with him!

Amazingly, the incumbent and his foremost opponent (who have been getting personalized 2-person interviews on TV and Radio by the MSM,) seemed lackluster and uninspiring. Nevertheless, their armies were there to cheer every word they said. However, it was a joyous moment to hear cheers, shouts, and applause go up when the Ron Paul Candidates mentioned eliminating income Taxes. It was clear there were many Ron Paul supporters there, as well!

When the event concluded, NAACP reps suprised us by having representatives from the Hillary and Obama campaigns come up and address the audience. Naturally, 4 people jumped at the chance to speak for Ron Paul. The audience heard about the only candidate who voted against the Iraq War from the beginning, who has never voted to raise taxes, who understands why we are in a financial crisis, and who is a champion of Liberty & the Constitution.

All in all, it was a great event. There's one more Friday (see calendar,) please come if you can. Also, this is the final weekend before the primary, so if you are in the area and want to help out, please contact me to find out how.
